Man i think the steward meeting
was so wonderful. i learned so
much. the language was made so
clear. i learned so much. i will
never miss another steward meeting.
i just can't believe the things
that came out. you guys handle
yourselves so well. Rick broke

This letter is the second in a series,
regarding problems with-in the Gas
Distribution Department. This morning
from 8:00 am. thru 12:00 noon, a 
meeting was held between this Union,
its leadership and Management. those
attending along with myself for the
Union were Jonnie Dawson Assistant
Business Manager, J.D. Cox President
and Chuck Laminack, Sr. Assistant
Business Manager. Those in attendance
for Management was Diana Veasey,
Manager of Gas Distribution, and 
Gene Crawford Assistant Manager of
Gas Distribution. Also in attendance
was Labor Relations Manager Barbara
Richman. The purpose of this meeting
was to clarify the concerns facing
Gas Distribution and its employees.
Many concerns came out of this meeting.
Ms. Veasey offered some insight, as
much of the context revolved around
Conflict Resolution. Let me state,
that Ms. Veasey and Mr. Crawford
also, discussed some sensitive issues
concerning race. The next meeting
scheduled is September 5, 2002. At
this meeting the concerns will be
prioritized and clarified. The
assessment of today's meeting, it
was rated from a 1 to 10. The result
was a 9. I think we can all agree
that working together is harder, but
as long as the end justifies the
means, it will not be in vain. Stay
with us on this important agenda.

1. What exactly is Barbara Richman’s
function as Labor Relations 
Manager?

A. As a Management employee, can
she be neutral in a dispute? 

2. What is the difference between 
Article 6 (Non-Discrimination) 
of the Memorandum of Understanding 
and the Equal Employment Compliance 
Department? Do they work together 
or independent of one another?

MLG&W is a nice place to work.
